As a vital part of Cornwall’s ecosystem, hedgehogs face rising threats from habitat fragmentation. At Star Linen, our daily rounds through St Ives and the surrounding areas often bring us close to the wild spaces these 'prickly residents' call home. We believe that keeping Cornwall clean goes hand-in-hand with keeping its wildlife safe.
Prickles & Paws is currently transitioning into a bespoke, state-of-the-art 'Hogspital' near Newquay. Star Linen is proud to be a founding corporate sponsor of this new facility, specifically funding the Intensive Care Area. Our support ensures that the most critically ill hedgehogs - like those suffering from pneumonia or severe injury - have access to the incubators and specialized medical care they need to survive.
Beyond clinical support, our partnership highlights the importance of 'Hedgehog Highways' and wildlife-conscious waste management. From providing high-protein nutrition to maintaining heated enclosures during the winter freeze, we are dedicated to ensuring that every 'Star-funded' hoglet has the chance to be released back into the Cornish countryside each spring.
